The natural beauty of the land, a supreme taste sensation and the genius of great musical artists are the elements forming the three supporting columns of the fourth edition of the Melodia del Vino Festival, the cultural event, offering tastings and concerts taking place in some of Tuscany’s most stunning locations.
A “journey” unveiling the historical and artistic heritage of the region alongside its rich history of food and wine, travelling between castles and country estates across Tuscany from 26th June to 6th July 2014. The calendar of alluring events will guide visitors on a magical tour through wines, colours and landscapes, promising performances by renowned artists in places of indisputable reputation.
The creators of the Melodia del Vino Festival are Marc Laforet and Michel Gotlib. Together they conceived the French festival “Grands Crus Musicaux”, a cultural project which has been received with great success in the Bordeaux region for the past ten years. The idea to create a similar version to the French Festival here in Italy came about in the summer of 2010, following a meeting between the organizers and the music enthusiast, Francis Bouquillon, son of sculptor Albert Bouquillon, who won the Prix de Rome in 1934. The Regione Toscana then came on board as a partner to create the event, alongside owners of prestigious and historical venues to host the concerts of the festival programme, offering the best of music, wine and cultural heritage.
Melodia del Vino is a programme of cultural events aimed at both those living in Tuscany and those from further afield, with the goal of becoming a recognised landmark event for tourists and admirers of the splendour of Tuscany. Melodia del Vino represents the symbolic continuance of a long and rich tradition of alliance and friendship between Tuscany and France, dating back from the House of Medici to the House of Lorraine.
Concert tickets are available from Box Office distribution points, of which there are 100 in Tuscany.
